Easter Tournament at Manor Park QUALIFYING ROUNDS The two qualifying rounds in the Manor Park Golf Club’s- Easter tournament were played yesterday under excellent conditions. Almost 100 competitors took part, and in spite of the gloomy weather forecast on '1 hurst) ay the daj turned out extremely warm in the morning, but was cooled down by a light southerly breeze in the afternoon. The trophy for the best net score oyer the 36 holes was won by D. Virtue, who, after a not too promising first round, excelled himself in the afternoon with a good net 66, making his net total 137, off the 20 mark. F. AV. The morning competition is a font-ball best-ball bogey, players to arrange their own partners. Shandon Club Two competitions were held by the Shandon Golf Club yesterday. A bogey competition in the morning attracted a strong field, the best cards being returned by G. McGregor (5). 3 up; A. L. Hurdler (12), 2 up: G. Trathen (12) and J. Wallace (5), all square. In the afternoon |i fourball best-ball competition was played. The most successful were Bennett and Petersen and Edgar and Johansen, o up ; Hayward and Hansen and Matthews and Murray, 4 tip.
