FREIGHT RATES UP
New Zealand-Japan Trade (Received March 24, 10.15 p.m.) Tokio, March 24. Reports from Kobe state that the conference on Australian freights decided to raise Australia-Japan rates by 10. per cent., except for frozen meats, which will be raised 50 per dent. Also the New Zealand-Japan rates will be raised from 5 to 10 per cent., all to become effective on June 1.
This is part of the general advance throughout the Western Pacific.
