British Treasury Returns EXPENDITURE UP ALSO (British Official Wireless.) I Received -March 24, 5 p.m.) Rugby, Marell 23. Treasury returns for tlie week ending Marell 20—11 days % from the end of tlie financial year—show that total ordinary revenue to date amounts to £766,971.848. At tlie corresponding date last year the figure was £728,271,283. Total ordinary expenditure to date is £782.638,075. against £736,067,796 at this time last year. Tlie estimate of tlie total ordinary revenue for the full year was £798,381,000. and expenditure, including supplementary estimates of £41,058.000, less provision made in tlie Budget for £25,600,000, was estimated at £813,388,000. On the receipts side, tlie income tax so far collected accounts for £247,499.000, against £230.201,000 at the corresponding date last year, and the total estimate for the full year of £259,000,000. Other inland revenue items, with exception of death duties, which is over £1,000,000 down on last year's figures, all show increase. Customs and excise to date have yielded £314.717,000, as compared with £297,928,000 at this time last year, and with the estimate for tlie full year of £317,525.000.
