BRIGHT COLOUR
Leal’ Contrasts On Bookends
arrangement of autumn leaves as x design for book-ends is distinctive if it blends with or emphasises the colour scheme of a room. For decorative work now, vivid and contrasting colours are the thing.
One suggestion is pale green for the stems, dark green for the bottom leaves and bright scarlet between. In the centre leaves of vivid yellow and quite
close sky blue leaves, with cerise and deep red-purple below. A brown or deep wine stain for background and cobalt blue to outline the sides. Use poster inks, and when they are thoroughly dry, varnish very lightly with lacquer. The less used the more brilliant the polish. All colours are admissible in conventionalised design.
