“BAD CONSCIENCE”
Dean Replies to Signor Mussolini’s Speech
(Received March 25. 12.54 a.m.) London, March 24.
The “Daily Mirror" says that, in some quarters it is feared that Signor Mussolini's present hostility to Britain will Iks aggravated by to-morrow’s House of Commons debate on the Labour motion censuring Italy for the massacre of Abys.siui.-ins at Addis Ababa. There is a strong feeling among Conservatives that the debate should be called off, at least until after the Faster recess.
The Dean of Winchester, Very Rev. E. G. Selwym commenting on Signor Mussolini's speech, said : “It is interesting to find the English pulpit, has an influence as far away as Italy. It seems from the fact that they are so disturbed as though the Italians have a bad conscience over Abyssinia.”
