Rear-Admiral Richmond Hobson
( Received March 17, 7.10 p.m.) New York, March 16. The deatli has occurred of RearAdmiral Richmond Pearson Hobson, founder and president of the Constitutional Democracy Association.
Resigning from tlie United States Navy in 1903. Rear-Admiral Hobson was _a member of Congress from 1907 to 1915. He was noted as a lecturer and writer advocating American naval supremacy and leadership in tlie international movement for peace. Advocating nation-wide ami world-wide prohibiten. be was the first to introduce in Congress an amendment to the Constitution for total prohibition. He was general secretary of the American Alcohol Education Association, rind in 1923 organised rind became president of tlie International Narcotic Education Association. Hr- was made a rearadmiral by Act of Congress in 1931.

Mr. G. D. Delprat Melbourne, March 17. The death Ims occurred of Mr. Guillaume Daniel Delprat. aged 81 years. He was general manager of the Broken Hill Proprietary Company. Limited, from 1889 to 1921. and had tin internalioital reputation as a metallurgist.
