CONTINUED SUCCESS OF SCOTS COLLEGE
At a meeting of the board of governors of Scots College this week, satisfaction was expressed at the continued sui-eess of the school, '[’he roll at the close of last year was 191, and this year it is .195. If to this number is added two day boys who are at present overseas, the number is the second greatest ever recorded at the beginning of the school* year. The principal was congratulated ou the success achieved at the recent examinations. The pipe bandmaster was also congratulated on the showing made bv the band at the recent open competitions held at Palmerston North. Although Scots gained fifth place in the quickstep and fourth in the selectioji, from a possible of 500 points, only 29 separated the first and last bands in the quickstep, and from a possible of 300 points only 11 points separated the first and last bands in the selection. Scots Pipe Band also achieved the distinction of carrying out the test march in exactly the prescribed time of one minute for the hundred yards.
