FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Mostly fair to cloudy; temperatures rising. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, 'Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day: An intense anti-cyclone still covers the New Zealand area, with fits centreJ ll ' east. Pressure is relatively low to the north, and a fairly deep dei is at present centred over south-eastern Australia. Light to moderate variable winds, mainly between south-east and north-east, at first, but strong easterlies in the far north, and later winds becoming northerl. generally and freshening. Seas rough north of East Cape; elsewhere in New Zealand water. B moderate, but rising later in the Cook Strait area. . , Moderate to stxng east to north-east winds with rather rough seas tn the eastern Tasman Sea. , . ... ... . ~,„ Weather fair to cloudy in most districts, but scattered rains still probabc in far northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island, and gradually increasing generally. Mist or fog at tunes in coastal areas, e. i ally in the South Island. Temperatures rising.
