Palmerston North. March 17
A house off Monrad Street, owned ami occupied by Mr. F. W. Rasmussen and family, was completely destroyed by lire early this morning. Mr. Rasmussen, bis wife and son and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Donnell, and their young child quit the burning building clad only in the clothes which they had handy to their beds. The furniture was insured for £3IXI and the house for £650, but Mr. Rasmussen states that he will still he a heavy loser
