EXHIBITION SITE
Another Notice of Motion
Though the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition is now a project to which the city of Wellington is commit led. the question of site still remains unsettled. Indeed, it appears to be somewhat of a thorny question, as no .one site yet proposed has given anything lijie general satisfaction. Another notice of motion on tiie subject has been handed to the town clerk by Councillor L. McKenzie. This is as follows :— “That the city officers present a report to the next meeting of the council as a guide for the most suitable site for the Centennial Exhibition (a) taking into consideration the suitability of the land for the buildings required; (b) the best and safest means of transport for the public; (c) the most suitable area available for ear parking not only for city visitors but for country visitors as well; (d) leaving behind a permanment memorial, .such as a car park and motor camp, recreation ground, etc., to commemorate the gift to the city by its founders whom this centennial proposes to honour after 100 years of progress.”
