COCKTAILS AT FIVE
Zinnias in vivid shades and mixed bowls of other fragrant autumn blooms with maidenhair fern were arranged in the sitting-room and dining-room of Mrs. G. B. Bradshaw’s home in Friend Street, Karori, yesterday, when she invited about fifty friends to cocktails at five o’clock to meet a visitor from England, Mrs. Peter Nash, who was formerly Aliss Jo Kirkcaldie, of Wellington, and who is spending two and a half months here with her father, Air. Sidney Kirkcaldie, Karori. Alany of Airs. Nash's friends were delighted at having this opportunity of meeting her agaiu, and talk centred round interesting reminiscences while the cocktails and appetising little savoury accomiwiniments went the rounds. Sirs. Bradshaw- was wearing a frock of beechnut brown lace effectively trimmed with taffeta.
