Lai-ge Increase in Exports

Shipments of butter and cheese from the Dominion this season show a considerable increase on those for the corresponding period of last season, according Io Hie returns supplied to the Dairy Board by the Primary Products Marketing Department. During February, shipments of butler totalled 12,669 tons, as against 12,184 tons in February, 1936. and shipments of cheese were 8802 tons, compared with 8503 tons. For the .seven months of the season to February 2S. exports of butter totalled 91.885 tons, compared with 85.708 tons for the corresponding period of 1935-36, an increase of 6177 tons, details being as follows: —

Shipments of butter from Australia to the United Kingdom show a large decrease. During February they were 7834 tons, compared with 10,916 tons in February, 1936, a decrease of 3082 lons. For the seven months they totalled 44,984 tons as against 62.524 tons last season, a decrease of 17,540 Oms, Shipments of Australian cheese to the United Kingdom for the seven months were 4088 tons, compared with 4292 tons last season.
