Mr. C. W. K. Allison. M.1.E.A., chief engineer of the Melbourne Harbour Trust, has retired from the trust ou account of ill-health. .Mr. Allison received his education at the Christchurch Boys’ High School, and at Canterbury University College. After serving as au engineering draftsman with the Lyttelton Harbour Board, the Public Works Department. New South Wales, and the Naval Works Department, he joined the trust in May, 1914, as chief draftsman, and was appointed assistant engineer in 1915 and chief engineer in 1920. Mauy large works were successfully carried out under his direction, among them being the widening of Hie River Yarra ou the south side, construction ol' Station Pier, and the Centenary Bridge. Port Melbourne. the commencement of construction of Appleton Dock and other developments associated with the improvement of the port.
