Wanganui.— Fine but overcast, »ery sultry heat, no wind. Waipukurau. — Despite a dull day it was again very hot, the temperature at 1 p.m. being 78deg., dropping at 7 p.m. to 73deg. Napier and Hastings.— Light to moderate north-westerly winds in the morning, changing to north-easterly breezes iu the afternoon. Weather fine and hot, with scattered light cloud. Auckland. — Dull and unsettled, with a strong northerly to north-easterly wind. The sky clouded over iu the afternoon and conditions were threatening. The barometer began to fall early in the afternoon. Christchurch. — Light rain fell throughout the morning, but stopped early in tlie afternoon, only to start again in the evening. A very light south-west breeze blew. Pressure was at 30.03 in. after being steady all day. Dunedin. — Dull and threatening with a mist around the hills and almost no wind. The barometer was steady at 30.05 in., and the maximum temperature was OOcleg.
