FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Cloudy to overcast; further rain in most districts.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day; —
Although pressure has risen somewhat over the Dominion, shallow depressions are still located respectively west of the Cook Strait area and to the north ot New Zealand, while a tropical cyclone is centred near Nukualofa. An anticyclone covers the western and southern portions of the Tasman Sea. Northerly to easterly winds predominating at first over the North Island, and southerly to south-easterly in the South, but south-easterlies gradually extending northward ; moderate to fresh, but later increasing in force. Seas rough north of East Cape and rather rough in the Cook Strait area; elsewhere in New Zealand waters slight to moderate, but rising south of East Cape. Moderate to strong south to south-east winds, with rather rough to rough seas, in
the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather cloudy to overcast, with mist or fog in places and further rain in most districts. ' Temperatures cool to moderate.
