New South Wales v. Victoria
(Received February 7, 6.30 p.m.)
Sydney, February 7.
At the New South Wales rowing championships Mosman won the eights from Sydney and North Shore with the former champions, the police crew, unplaced. x The Olympic Games’ representative, C. Pearce, comfortably retained his sculling title. Turner was not an entrant.
At Melbourne C. Peppier, who had held the title for live years, was disqualified in this year’s race for the Victorian sculling championship for leaving his course. Peppier forced three other competitors off the course after about 100 yards and the field had to return to the start. The championship was won by Peppier’s club-mate, L. Turves, Yarra Yarra. Richmond won the eights championship from Mercantile.
