LODGE AFFAIRS
Manchester Unity Meetings The recent meeting of the Loyal Newtown Lodge, Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows, was presided over by Bro. S. Fades, past grand, in the absence of the noble grand. There was a good attendance. Correspondence included a notification of the annual general meeting of the hospital association. Lodge adjourned at an early hour in order that various members might attend the degree meeting held by the Loyal Wellington Past Grands Lodge, and also the conferring of the purple degree by the district grand master.
At the last meeting of the Loy nJ Rose of the Valley Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., Sister Stevenson presided over a fair attendance. Bros. Hall and Little reported on sick members. The immediate past noble grand was granted leave of absence. The lecture master. Bro. H. Hewer, conferred a degree on Sisters L. M. and C. E, Hewer, and Bros. Page and Smith. At the conclusion of business a social evening was spent playing ping-pong and in- ' door bowls. 1 There was a full attendance of officers I at the last meeting of the Loyal Petone I Lodge (Moera branch), as well as a visitor from Loyal Rose of the Valley Lodge. Matters pertaining to the welfare of the lodge having been dealt with, members and visitors played miniature baseball, Several musical items were presented.
