Lady Nolan and Miss Nolan, Wadestown, left on Saturday for Hawera. Miss Patricia Gledhill, Khandallah, will leave to-day for Patea, where she will be the guest of Miss Gibson. Mr. and Mrs. A. Owen Jones, Masterton. are spending a holiday at Raumati Beach. Miss Zona Joyce, Dunedin, who has been spending a holiday with Mrs. N. I. Joyce, Thompson Street. Wellington, has returned south.
Miss Betty Ellis, Hobson Street, is visiting Auckland, where she is the guest of Mrs. Ralph Sketch. Victoria Avenue.
Miss Anne Cooper, Christchurch, has returned to Wellington from a visit to her cousin, Mrs. Fred Grotrian, “Renews,” Ashhurst, and will be the guest of Miss Lorna Brodie, Tinakori Road, for a few days.
Mrs. Hay, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. Douglas LeCren, “Hazlemore,” Orari, is spending a few days with Miss E. R. Elworthy, LeCren’s Terrace, Timaru. She will return to “Hazlemore” this week.
Sir Basil Brooke, Minister of Agriculture in Northern Ireland, and Lady Brooke have been visiting Christchurcn and are now at The Hermitage. Mount Cook. They will return to Wellington this week on the first stage of their return journey to Ireland. Miss L. Bush, who has been appointed French mistress at the Marsden Diocesan School, is a passenger on the Rotorua, en route for New’ Zealand. Miss Bush holds the degree of M.A. of Edinburgh University, and the teachers’ diploma of Manchester University. After graduating she taught at the Girls’ High School, Kendal, In Westmoreland.
