Controlled Price Problem In Petrol Industry COMPLAINT TO MINISTER By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 5. As a result of dissatisfaction at inability to secure increases of wages, the secretary of the New Zealand Federated Storemen’s and Packers’ Association, Mr- W. Miller, has written to the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, on behalf of workers employed in the stores of oil merchants engaged in the wholesale side of the oil industry throughout New Zealand, suggesting that the Government should either assume control of the industry or grant permission for an increase in the price of petrol in districts where prices at present are controlled by regulations. Replying, the Minister expressed sympathy with the case of the workers and indicated that the question of permitting increases in prices is being thoroughly investigated by his department at the instigation of the oil companies. _________
