FOUR FOUND DEAD

Newspaper Aeroplane Crash Tjondon, February 4. The de Havilland aeroplane which was chartered by the “Daily Express” for a survey of projected internal air routes throughout Britain was found by a shepherd burnt out in ,a field in .Scotland, The dead bodies of the four occupants were inside the framework. ’The victims were Mr. Harold Pemberton. aeronautical correspondent of the “Daily Express”; a photographer, Mr. li. C. Wesley: the newspaper’s radio correspondent, Mr. T. 11. Philpott, who was acting as wireless operator; and the pilot, Mr. Leslie Jackson. A dozen aeroplanes, including Air Force machines, fruitlessly searched a wide area in Southern Scotland throughout the day for the missing aeroplane, which left Renfrew on February 2 for Liverpool. MACHINE LOCATED Missing Australian Plane Hobart, February 5. The missing aeroplane was located this morning about 20 miles west of Waratah. Tasmania, in bushy country. An Air Force machine saw the aeroplane lying on one side, apparently badly damaged, and one man lying on the ground about 300 yards away. Another aeroplane has left Hobart and will drop food and water. A landparty is also en route to the scene of the accident.
