Captain William Hobson

The Governor of a New South Wales directed Captain t William Hobson, commander of 1 H.M.S. Rattlesnake, on the East In- < dies Station, to proceed to Kororareka ■' to report on the state of affairs in the colony. He arrived at the Bay of Islands on May 28, 1837, and remained ‘ there for several weeks.
