Wellington Trotting Club Final Day KEEN RACING CERTAIN Review of the Prospects (By Overcheck.) The Wellington Trotting Club has received excellent acceptances for the second day of its meeting to-day, and with the readjustment of handicaps as a result of the first day’s form there is every reason to believe that the various events will be even more keenly contested than they were on Thursday, when several close finishes were witnessed. A frequent rail and bus service to. and from the course has been arranged, and this should ensure quick transport each way. Racing is timed to start at about 12.30 p.mj,- — The card is as follows: — p> 30 KAITOKE HANDICAP TROT, of £130; 3.43 class. One mile and a half. Tommy Bov .. scr Walter Wrack -Is Great Sonoma . 36 Winnie Parrish 48 Swordsman .. 36 Captain Bolt .. oj Tan John .... 3(5 Neither the winner nor runner-up in the Preliminary Handicap is to . contest the Kaitoke Handicap, but newcomers in Winnie Parrish and Captain Bolt are engaged. Swordsman, third on Thursday, is likely to be favourite, and he may be followed by Winnie Parrish aud Captain Bolt. WOBURN TRIAL HANDICAP, of £130: 3.43 class. One mile and a half. Lady Slipper . scr Sewana »cr Desperado ... scr Starwyn scr Mauri Stepson scr McKinney scr Wynan scr Golden Moness scr Spey Royal .. scr Santa Fe scr Ace High .... scr Santa Fe ran a couple of useful races on Thursday, finishing third in each, while Mauri McKinney run second to Dark Hazard in the Probationer’s Handicap. This pair and Starwyn may be in most demand. 150—. FEBRUARY HANDICAP, of £175; 3.34 class. One mile and a half. Allworthy ..: ser Vanity Fair ... scr Baron Grand . scr Vinco scr Frank Best .. scr Great Chum .. 12 , Precious Metal scr Celebrity .... 12 Diversion ... scr Glorietta .... Donald Dhu .. scr Frisco Boy ... 24 Sports Review scr Native Cole .. 24 Superior Rank scr Frank Best did not show' his true form on Thursday, and he is likely to be again well supported in the February Handicap. Glorietta, more patiently handled,. Shoyld go a good race, while but for a break nearing the post Frisco Boy would certainly have been in the money on Thursday. Another pair likely to be in demand are Donald Dhu aud Superior Rank. The latter finished very strongly on Thursday after losing considerable ground at a critical stage of the race. Ou the whole the most favoured may prove to be Superior Rank, Donald Dhu, and Frank Best. Superior Rauk will bo bracketed with Celebrity. 2.35— DOMINION HANDICAP, of £500; 4.27 class. Two miles. Bonny Azure scr Glenrossio ... 24 King’s Warrior ser Grand Mogul .. 24 Biugen Palm . 12 Rollo 24 Gamble 12 Red Shadow . 60 Graham Direct 12 Koi I’Or 72 Rey Spec aud War Buoy have dropped out of the Dominion Handicap, but otherwise the field is the same as that which contested the New Zealand Gold Cup Handicap on Thursday. The form in that race will probably result in the Bonny Azure-Glenrossie bracket receiving most support. The last-named finished very strongly and should be all the better for the race. Rollo should again race prominently, while Gamble may be improved as a result of his outing the first day. The public may show a preference for the Glenrossie-Bonny Azure bracket, Rollo and Gamble. / KORO KORO HANDICAP TROT, of £150; 4.59 class. Two miles. Dollar Maid .. scr Swordsman .. 48 Native Tree ... 24 Walter Wrack 60 Tan John .... 48 Winnie Parrish 60 Great Sonoma . 4S Captain Bolt .. 84 But for breaking toward the close in. her race Dollar Maid would have been hard to beat on Thursday, and this fact will no doubt be remembered when the machine opens for the Koto Koro Handicap. Native Tree did not run on Thursday and rends nicely on 24 yards. Next to these two Swordsman (if unpenalised) may command most respect. Native Tree may be the first choice of bettors. 3 55 SUBURBAN HANDICAP, of £130; 3.5 class. One mile and a quarter, Ace High scr Rhinegold ... scr Delepaix .... scr Santa Fe scr Lady Slipper . scr Spey Royal .. scr Mauri Worthy McKinney scr Audubon scr Kia Kaba .... scr Wynan ser Qucenie Direct scr There may be an alteration of the marks of some of the horses in the Suburban .'Handicap, necessitating a reconsideration of their chances, but on the handicap as it stands Mauri McKinney, Santa Fe and Worthy Audubon may be most in demand. 4.35— EASTBOURNE HANDICAP, of £150; 3.89 class. One mile and a half. Big Nelson ... scr Fine Art 12 Linklight .... scr Black Marble . 12 Post Haste ... scr Dark Hazard , 12 Savoldi scr Waving Corn . 24 Shrewdie scr Epilogue .... 24 True Reflection scr Trevor de Oro -4 Fine Art, second to Donald Dhu on Thursday, appears to be the logical favourite for the Eastbourne Handicap, and he may be followed in the betting by Savoldi and Post Haste. Black Marble and Dark Hazard should add interest to the race. There arc two brackets—Poste Haste-Waving Corn and Fine Art-Dark Hazard. 5.15— AU 11EVOIR HANDICAP, of £225; 3.9* class. One mile and a hail’. Belinda King ser Plutus 12 Ma Waro scr Navy Blue .... 12 Rayon d’Or .. scr Valdor 24 Renown’s Best scr Wluaway ... 24 Kibe 12 Frisco Lady .. 48 The Au Revoir Handicap should be a keenly contested event. Winaway has been penalised 24 yards and this may stop her. On Thursday’s form Kibo, Navy Blue and Frisco Lady appear to be the three entitled to the greatest subport.
