FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Fine generally, warmer temperatures. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day: An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity covers the Dominion. A depressioni is advancing across the south Tasman ben, but is very slight, and another anti cyclone is located over eastern Australia. Light to moderate and variable winds but nortlierDes ><»oh prev a il>nu .changing again to southerlies to-morrow in the southern portion ot the South Island. Seas slight to moderate in New Zealand waters, lint later increasing somewhat in the Cook and Foveaux Strait ureas. . Light to moderate winds, with noriherlies predominating, in the eastern Tasman Sea but a change to southerlies advancing irom the west. Weather fine generally at first; cloud increasing, however, in the southern portions of the South Island and scattered light ruins probable later, mainly m coastal areas. Temperatures warmer. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER. Wellington—Fine and clear: light, enol south-easterly breeze. Minimum temperature on Thursday night 49.7<1eg.; maximum yesterday b-._deg., al o.„v p.m., 58.6(1 eg. Bainfan nt “The Dominion” building for 2-^ hours ended midnight, ml. Total for the month, nil; for the year. 3.27 in, Palmerston North. —Warm; bright sunshine and light breeze. Masterton. — Beautifully fine, sunny ; no wind. Wanganui. — Beautifully fine and warm, calm and cloudless. Waipukurau.—Bright sunny day. fresh south-east breeze. Temperature 72deg. Napier and Hastings.—Fine and sunny, witli scattered fleecy cloud and a light easterly breeze. Temperatures warm. Auckland. —Fine and warm; light southerly; evening line; barometer fell slight!? to 30.10 in. at 6 p.m. Christchurch.—Sunny, clear and warm, with a moderate north-east breeze in the morning and frosh east-north-east in tlie afternoon. Hie maximum ternpcrattiro was 62.3dcg. The barometer was steady at 30.11 in. Dunedin.—Bright sunshine: a light north-east breeze; temperature rose to 70deg. The barometer fell slightly to 30.14111.
