Mrs Morton Paterson, Wadestown, is the guest of Mrs. Kenneth Myers, East Tamaki, Auckland. Mrs. C. B. V. Wheeler, Remuera, Auckland,' left by car yesterday for ■Wellington.

Miss Sybil Williams, Wellington, is spending a holiday with Canon and Mrs. W. Williams at Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. West, Mr. and Miss West, have returned to Lower Hutt from a visit to Patea. Dr. H. D. Robertson, Mrs. Chas. Ross and Miss Ross will be ft anganui visitors to Wellington to-day for the Waddel-Greatorex wedding. Mrs. Alfred Kidd, who attended a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Free Kindergartens’ Union in Wellington, has returned to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown, St. John’s Hill, Wanganui, are visiting Wellington, and will leave by the Ruahine for England on the 28th.

Mrs. Wallis, Karori, will arrive in Christchurch on December 24 to visit Miss A. Julius, Cashmere Hills. Later, she will attend a Bible class camp at Rangiora.

Miss Lurline Fleming, winner of a “radio personality competition” iu Sydney, who is returning to Australia on the Makura, which left Wellington last night, has just completed a contract with Radio City, New York. Sir Mark and Lady Sheldon were passengers by the Makura, which left Wellington last night. Sir Mark has been on a business trip to the United States and the United Kingdom, and is returning to Sydney.

Mrs. Back, wife of Mr. R. A. Back, who for many years represented the Union Steam Ship Company at Sau Francisco, accompanied by her son, Mr. lan Back, arrived at Wellington by the Makura yesterday. Her husband is still in California. Miss Helen Gunn will leave Christchurch on Friday for Wellington to attend the wedding of Miss Betty Herbert and Mr. George Milne, on Saturday. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, Wanganui, will also be a visitor to Wellington for the .wedding. Dr. I. H. Gosset and his sister, Miss Bertha Gosset, are passengers from London on the Rangitane, due at Wellington on December 16. Dr. and Miss Gosset are great-nephew and greatniece of the late Archdeacon Gosset and of Dr. Gosset, of Christchurch. While in New Zealand they will visit relatives in Canterbury. The wedding took place in Wellington on Friday last of Mr. T. S. Gibson, of the staff of the Vacuum Oil Co. Pty., Ltd., and Ena, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kear, Oamartt. On the eve of the wedding the staff of the Vacuum Oil Co. made a handsome presentation to Mr. Gibson, and good wishes were expressed for his future happiness.
