St. George’s School (WANGANUI COLLEGIATE PREPARATORY SCHOOL) WANGANUI. Headmaster M. A. H. FELL, M.A (Oxon.). Preparatory School for boys between the ages of 7 and 14. Boys are prepared for Wanganui, Christ College and other secondary schools of the Dominion; for the English Public Schools Entrance, and for the Royal Navy. SITE. —The school is situated on the outskirts of Wanganui, within five miles of the sea. The grounds contain two football and cricket grounds, three tennis courts, playground, workshop, swimming bath, gardens, etc. BUILDINGS. These are the most up-to-date in New Zealand, everything being contained under one roof. For earthquake resistance they have satisfied the requirements of the leading architects of New Zealand. HEALTH. The school, since its foundation in 1927, has had a health record unrivalled by any other school. WANGANUI GIRLS ’ COLLEGE The Wanganui Girls’ College building is a handsome, commanding structure of brick and wood, provided with everything necessary for the comfortable and orderly life of its inmates. Reconstruction work has been carried out recently, and the building is now considered earthquake-proof. The teaching staff, under the able direction of the Principal, Miss A. C. •Tizard, M.A., is of such high calibre that' parents can rest assured of the successful preparation of students for examinations up to first section of University Degrees Musical training is in the hands of efficient and experienced teachers, and pupils may learn pianoforte, violin, ’cello, harp and solo singing. A special mistress takes charge of physical drill, games, and athletics. The greatest possible attention is given to securing good all-round development,” especially as regards character. The welfare of the pupils is the first consideration of the Boarl of Governors and the Staff, and .particular attention is paid to the boarding establishment. Boarding fees are very reasonable, and there has been no increase in these for many years, despite the increased cost of food and service.
