PREPARING FOR NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Liberal Opportunities For All VARIED COURSES WHICH MAY BE TAKEN

Another school year is ending and with it comes the problem of the future of many thousands of boys and girls up and down the country. Some are coming of school age and next year will be introduced to primary education. Others are completing their days at the primary schools, and those of them who are taking their training to a higher stage have to make up their minds what type of school they are going on to. Up to the primary school stage there is only the one broad school career the pupil can follow. At the close of it more variety is offered. Depending on the circumstances of the home largely will be the decision in any particular case that a secondary education is to be taken. It goes without saying, of course, that wherever that is possible it is eminently to be desired. What type of post-primary schooling is to be selected depends on a ntunber of factors. Chief of them is the career, if at the time selected, which the boy or girl is to follow. There is the liberal education provided by the secondary school in the arts and sciences, and the technical school which provides more specialised training. Even where the primary school scholar cannot go on to a secondary education, there is no need for his education to end. For those in the cities in particular there are the evening classes at technical schools, courses at commercial colleges, and for the country pupil correspondence training.
