Criticism of the Government

Sir, —Regarding the letters, of two people who claim that your criticism of the Labour Government is quite fair, all I can say is that their Tory instinct blinds them to what is fair comment. \A e all like fair play. “The Dominion” leaders are certainly entitled to criticise. But why destructive criticism? The National Barty failed. What arc we to dp? We are now trying the other alternative. It all looks very reasonable to me. My income tax has been doubled, but my business is also going up. It will do me. AVhat about some constructive ideas from "The Dominion,” with a little bit more building up instead of pulling down? Surely, sir, you would not suggest the National Party should have another chance so soon. Anybody who cannot see the wonderful future of Labour in New Zealand is to be pitied. "The Dominion” would have us believe the farmers are very put out with the recent legislation. Fifty per cent, of my time is spent among farmers, and, with the exception of a few of the old “cut their nose off to spite their face” die-hard Tories (all moneyed men, too), these people are right behind the new rule. “The Dominion” in being so hostile to the choice of the electors is failing in its duty to the country. One indeed wonders if Hitler was far wrong when he suspended certain newspapers for distortion and destructive criticism.— I am, etc., REASON Wanganui.
