Vice-Regal. The Governor-General presided at a meeting of t.he Executive Council yesterday morning. Lady Galway was present at and opened the Dominion Conference of the League of Mothers yesterday. Mrs. Nora Edwards, London (honorary member Toe II League of Women Helpers) was the guest of their Excellencies at lunch at Government House yesterday. In the afternoon Lord and Lady Galway paid a visit to Lower Hutt, where his Excellency formally opened the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society’s summer show. Viscount Dillon, accompanied by Lady Dillon, arrived at Wellington yesterday, on a visit to Mr. Frank Dillon, of Leefield, Marlborough. Vicomte and Vicomtesse de ’Bondy, France, are touring the North Island. They are to leave for Sydney by the Awatea on November 24. Sir James Hutchison, editor of the “Otago Daily Times,” and Lady Hutchison, arrived at Wellington yesterday from the south, Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Division in the Great War from 1915 to 1919, and Lady Russell, returned to New Zealand by t.he Rangitata, which arrived at Auckland yesterday, after a holiday visit to England and the Continent. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland. Mr. H. D. Acland left Wellington for the south last night. Mr. T. E. Y. Seddon travelled south last night from Wellington. Mr. .1. G. Osborne arrived at Wellington yesterday from the south. Mr. J. R. McKenzie, Christchurch, left Wellington last night for the north. Professor S. G. Peren. Massey College, arrived at Wellington last night from Palmerston North. Dr. G. S. Sharp, Featherston, has gone to Australia for six weeks' holiday. Mr. A. T. Bothamley, 1.5.0., Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, who. at 90 years of age, recently made a tour of England, returned to Wellington yesterday. Dr. G. M. Tothill, Auckland, was a passenger for the South Island last night from Wellington. Mr. W. R. Carey, manager of the Kalapoi Woollen Company, left Wellington last night on his return to Christchurch. Mr. G. R. Ritchie and Mr. C. W. Rattray, directors of the Union Steam Ship Company, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Dunedin. Mr. William Taylor, general manager of Ihe New Zealand Drug Co., Lid., arrived al Wellington yesterday from Dunedin Colonel G. S. Dougins, of Loudon, arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella yesterday, on his annual fishing trio to New Zealand Mr. C. A. Mooney, manager of the Union Steam Ship Company’s office at Btirnie, Tasmania, accompanied by Mrs. Mooney, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday morning Mr. K.
