3 Representative Players QUESTION OF ELIGIBILITY RAISED At last night's meeting o£ the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League Air. A. A. Jennings sponsored a notice ot motion that before any player is chosen tor representative games lie play lor a complete season in league cricnel. Prestige Hosiery, Athletic 1. - Letters were received from the Central, Gaseo, Bing Harris, and Wellington "Woollen Mills clubs in connection with penalties imposed. The explanations from Central, Bing Harris, and Wellington Woollen Mills were accepted, while the explanation from Gaseo in connection with the penalty imposed was referred to the judicial committee for a report. As the rules of the league precluded any donation from its funds for purposes other than cricket, it was decided to circulate clubs inviting them to subscribe to the Lovelock testimonial fund sponsored by the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association. Further consideration was given to the question of fielding a team against the Beckenham club, Christchurch, at Christmas, in Wellington, and after discussion it was decided to reply to the Beckenham club expressing regret that a fixture could not be arranged. The judicial committee reported that it had considered an appeal of the Pensions club against a penalty imposed. The committee’s recommendation that no action be taken was approved. Sargoods, Ferguson and Osborn, Pensions Department, Excelsior and Wellington "Woollen Mills were each fined 2/6 for failing to forward results sheets within the prescribed time. In each ease the offence was a second one. Positions of Teams.
