Queen Mary’s decision to attend King Edward’s coronation represents a departure from precedent established by Queen Alexandra, who did uot attend King George's coronation. Tlie “Daily Telegraph” points out that Queen Mary will be the first Queen Mother in English history to see her son crowned.
