RETURN WRESTLING CONTEST
McCready May Meet George in Wellington It is likely that a return wrestling cou- I test between Ed. Don George (United: States) ami Earl McCready (Canada) | will be held iu AVelliugton within thg next fortnight. When they met iu Auckland last Saturday night George was the victor by the only tall in a gruelling test. The return match if it eventuates may be staged in the open air, as was the Auckland match. The probable date for lhe meeting is Saturday, November 28. savoldi v. McCready Contest Next Monday A large crowd at the AVellingtou Town Hall on'Monday night was thrilled by the fast ami scientific exchanges between Ed. Don George and “Jumping” Joe Savoldi, but a match which promises to be even wore exciting will lake place in the same ring next Alouday, when Savoldi will be given a chance to emulate George by scoring a win against McCready. McCready so far has been unable to vanquish the mercurial Italian, and the latter is determined that he will remain unable to do so. Savoldi came to New Zealand determined to show the public fast and spectacular wrestling, and his widespread popularity is a tribute to the extent to which he has succeeded. If he can add to his record a win over McCready, who has been recognised as the standard by which other wrestlers are judged, his position will be an enviable one. AlcCready, however, is at present at the top of his form, and the fact that he has had a loss scored against him should serve only to make him all the more determined.
