Shearing Difficulties
Sir, —May I draw attention through your columns to the new shearing regulations? As you know, shearing is a job that lias to be done between the end of October and Christmas, the weather at that season often being very unsettled, making it difficult to get out by the time laid down. 1 do not know if the farmers representatives are to blame in not drawing attention to the likely results. Had the price been fixed and the rest left to the interested parties, 1 think it would nave been better for all concerned. Speaking for this district, I may state that last week scarcely a sheep was shorn owing to wet weather, but had it cleared no shearing would have been allowed on Saturday afternoon. —I am, etc., Danncvirke, November 16.
