RECORD PLACEMENTS

1076 During Last Week NEARLY 600 PERMANENT Positions filled through the agency of the State Placement Service during the week ended last Saturday, totalled 1076, an increase of 46 on the previous week’s record total, which for the first time had exceeded one thousand. A cheering feature of the figures is that of the 1076 increase nearly 600 figure under the permanent heading, still further increasing the percentage of permanent placements, which stands at over 50. Details of the operations of the service since its inauguration are given in the following table: —
