Wellington Markets Quiet AN EASIER-TENDENCY There was a quieter tone in the Wellington stock and share markets yesterday, and the volume of turnover yamuch less than on recent days, sales bein„ recorded as follows: —

There was a good demand for Government loans, hut supplies were very sealce, the only reported business being a small parcel of 4 per cent, stock, 1J46, at £lO- - Offers for the 1952-aa 4 per centswere slightly firmer. No interest wu» shown in local body or company debentUßanks were well sought after, hut prices showed little change. Pastoral and financial issues, insurance and most other New Zealand shares were dull. There was a good demand for Australian industrial and trading issues. Broken Hill Proprietary were a little better than at the close of last week. Australian Glass eas-ed to 90/-, sellers 93/o, ex dividend, and Burns Philp were wanten at 72/6, also ex dividend. Electrolytic Zincs were also easier. The Woolworths issues showed small variations. New Zealands were quoted at £6/12/-, sellers £6/17/-, and the Sydneys were done at £6/17/- and £6/16/-.
