CRICKET BLUES
N.Z. University Awards FOUR PLAYERS SELECTED University cricket blues hare been awarded by the New Zealand University Students’ Association, on the recommendation of the New Zealand University Cricket Council, to K. F, M. Uttley and N. D. Henderson I Otago University)’ and W. Tricklebank and W. F. Vietmeyer (Victoria University College, Wellington). These are the first cricket blues awarded in New Zealand. Uttley. a steady batsman ami line fieldsman, lias played for Otago and represented the South Island against the North at Wellington in 1034-35. He is als|O a Rugby blue and an Otago Rugby representative. Henderson is a fast bowler who has played for Otago. Tricklebank, a medium to fastmedium right-hand bowler and a useful batsman, lias played for Wellington and was a member of the North Island team against the South Island in 193435. A. Rugby blue, ho was a member of the New Zealand University team which toured Japan. Vietmeyer wins his blue on his all-round record in club games last season, in which lie made 305 runs at an average of 38.12. and took. 16 wickets at 20.62 for University in senior matches in Wellington.
