ROTARIANS’ VISIT
Wellington Members at Palmerston North Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, November 16. Wellington Rotarians paid an annual visit to the Palmerston North club today, those attending from Wellington including Messrs. 11. E. Anderson. W. McLay, A. F. Roberts, A. J. Murn. F. W. Furkert. J. F. Inkersell. F. \V Vickerman, J. M. Rod, E. Bull. .1. IV. Penman, D. H. Taylor, P. W. Maddock, and Miss F. M. Low. Mr. P. W. Maddock, addressing Rotarians on films and the film industry, said there were 470 cinemas in New Zealand, seating 250,000 persons, and offering cheap entertainment to the people. He agreed some pictures brought to the country did not appeal, but there were many outstanding productions with educational value and entertainment. However the main plank of the industry must be entertainment, and the distributors felt their main interest was to provide patrons with a greater percentage of entertainment value films in order that the industry coulcl be kept ou paying lines The time was coming wliten all films would be shown in natural colour, and improvements were being gradually effected in tlie teclinicolmir process
