VISIT TO THE FLEET
King to Spend Two Days (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, November 11. The King was present to-night at the annual British Legion festival of remembrance at the Albert Hall, which was crowded with ex-servicemen. Shortly after leaving the Albert Hall his Majesty travelled by rail to Portland. He will sleep in the Royal coach in a siding in preparation for his visit to the Fleet, extending over two days. After a reception by the Commander-in-Chief of the Home Fleet, and inspection of guards of honour, the King will embark on the barge.
The ships to be inspected to-morrow are H.M.S. Nelson, Orlon, Courageous, Royal Oak, Cairo, Royal Sovereign. Leander. Neptune, and Guardian. The anti-submarine school will also be visited After a dinner part, on the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert, the King will visit H.M.S. Courageous for a ratings’ concert.
