Ed Don George has shown biinself in all his matches iu New Zealand to be a highly skilled, powerful, and colourful wrestler, but, so far as Wellington patrons are concerned, lie can be expected to eclipse any of his previous performances when he has his return match against Joe Savoldi at the Town Hall on Alonday night. The pair met in a challenge contest at Christchurch on Wednesday night, and the result was a thrilling encounter in which the issue was in doubt right up to the time when Savoldi made a crash landing after exploiting a drop-kick. Savoldi has lost important matches in this manner before, but it does not prevent him from keeping faith with the thousands of his followers who look to him to provide fireworks whenever he enters the ring. Sometimes he misses, hut more often lie connects, and his determination Io have his revenge on his American rival on Monday gives reason to think that George will be very lucky if the drop-kick misses tire again. Possibly Savoldi will fall back on his straight wrestling science, and. if this is so. George will find his hands full the whole time. There will be amateur preliminaries from S o’clock.
