Court Loyal Northland Meeting
Court Loyal Northland, No. S7SI. Ancient Order of Foresters, met in St. Anne's Schoolroom. Northland, the chief ranger, Bro. IV. Groves, presiding over a large attendance. The work of the Woodwards had been easy of late, there being but two members on the sick funds. Several remits were discussed in readiness for the forthcoming triennial meeting of the district court. Bro. Rutherford was appointed delegate to the meeting of local courts arranged to discuss holding a combined A.O.F. social. The social committee of the court was requested to make arrangements for the children’s Christmas party, to be held on Saturday, December 19. Among the visitors present was a member of Court Pride of the Leith
,Dunedin), who received a special welcome from the chief ranger. The secretary of the indoor bowls association, Bro. F. Matthews, attended to present the Doreen Cup to one of the Northland teams which won this trophy
in a recent competition. The winning team was Brothers G. Adams (skip), F. Platt (No. 3), G. Fearn (No. 2), and W. Hopper (No. n.
