Wanganui, October 6. Charged with attempting to murder his wife, Matthew Hill, aged 31. a native, appeared before Mr. J. 11. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Wanganui, today. He was remanded until October 14. Bail, self £2OO and two sureties’ of £lOO, was allowed, accused to report daily to the police.
It is alleged that a domestic dispute occurred at a house at Putiki on Saturday night, and that a rille was fired in the house, the bullet penetrating a door and going out through the roof. No one was injured. . Accused was arrested yesterday. His wife left, the house but returned later on Saturday night. Both had lived there together until accused was arrested.
