ATHLETIC BURGLAR
Climb Down 30ft. Light Well CITY PREMISES RANSACKED Only an active man could have carried out the entry into the premises of Kean’s, Limited, Willis Street, which were burgled on Monday night. The intruder or ijftruders, it is thought, reached the rear of the shop by descending from Boulgott Street, and to do this must have climbed down a 30-foot light-well. The office and part of the shop were ransacked, goods and papers being scattered about ruthlessly. The extent of the firm’s losses has not yet been estimated, but they are not believed to be heavy. Little or no cash was obtained. This attempt is the latest of, a series of breakings and enterings which seem to be the work of one man or a coterie of men operating in the mid-city area. Many of the burglaries have had one feature in common—namely, that entry has been gained from the roof or by some means calling for athletic prowess.
