STATE JOINERY WORKS
Leased to Private Firm? Curiosity as to the Government’s intentions regarding the joinery factory it is erecting at Kaiwarra was expressed in notice of a question by Mr. R. A. Wright (Independent, Wellington Suburbs) to the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, in the House of Representatives yesterday. "When the factory is built and the plant installed, is it the intention of the Government to lease it to a private firm, or will the plant be controlled by a staff to be employed by the Government?” asked Mr. Wright, who said it was thought in Wellington that the building and plant were to be leased to a private firm, which would be given an order to erect 500 houses for the Government.
