New Vessels in Port.— At one period during the recent visit of the Awatea. there were other new ships also making their maiden visit to Wellington. These were the Dunedin Star and the Canberra Marn, each of which may be considered among the fastest in its class. In this view of the harbour, to which the snw-covered Rimutaka provide a fitting background, the Awatea may be seen berthed at Queen’s, Wharf on the right, and the Dunedin Star, with its distinctive funnel, on the near side of Glasgow Wharf. The black funnel with white cross stripes of the Canberra Maru, which was berthed on the further side of Glasgow Wharf, may be seen a little to the left of that of the Dunedin Star.
