NEW CHIEF DETECTIVE
Auckland Appointment ! — I By Telegraph—Press Association, Auckland, September 16. '■ Senior-Detective S. G. Hall has been appointed chief detective in charge of the detective staff at Auckland in succession to Inspector J. Sweeney, who was fareweiled last night and leaves this evening to take charge of the Wellington police district Chief-Detective Hall joined the Police Force at Dunedin in 1908, and was appointed a senior detective ip 1933, when he was transferred from Dunedin.
