UNION OF SCHOOLS

“Minister’s Autocratic Attitude” I . RESOLUTION OF REGRET Dominion Speciai Service Masterton, September 16. Disapproval of the decision of the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, to amalgamate the Wairarapa High Schocl and the Masterton Technical School, was expressed by members of the Technical High School Association last night, and the chairman of the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board and other members were taken to task. It was decided after a long discussion to send a resolution to the Minister regretting that he had adopted such an autocratic attitude in amalgamating the two schools against the wishes of a large majority of the public of Masterton, and stating that the association dissociated itself from the attitude of the Secondary Education Board, a majority of whose members were elected definitely to oppose amalgamation.
