OBITUARY
Mr. W. Wallbutton A well-known resident of Foxton tor ' many years. Mr. William Wallbutton, died in Palmerston North Hospital on Sunday evening, aged 65 years, says a “Dominion” Special Service message. Mr Wallbutton’s father, one of the pioneers of Wellington, was a wheelwright by trade, and assisted in the construction of the first tram line between Foxton and Palmerston North. He was afterward engaged as a wheelwright in the Foxton district. Mr. Wallbutton spent practically all his life in Foxton and followed flax work until 1916 when he entered into a carrying business on his'own account. which be continued until a week or so ago, when be entered Palmerston North Hospital and underwent an operation. He leaves a wife and grown-up family. The sons are Messrs. William James. Robert. Frank, and Thomas Wallbutton (all of Foxton), and Charles Wall button (Morrinsville). and the daughters. Mesdames P. Faulkner, E. Shaw. R. Morris, and L Turner (all of Foxton)- ; .. The funeral of the late Mr. William Wallbutton took place at Foxton _on Tuesday and was conducted by the Rev. E. 4V. Burgin. •
