KING MAY LAY FIRST KEEL PLATE
4 Queen Mary’s Sister Ship (British Official Wireless.) (Received September. 16, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, September 15. Construction of the Cunard-White Star Company's liner No. 552, sister ship to the Queen Mary, will begin in December and work on the placing in position of keel blocks of fir wood specially chosen to avoid danger of combustion when the ship runs down the slipway is to be begun immediately. The laying of the keel will probably be completed about March. The “Daily Telegraph” says that the King has expressed his willingness to lay the first keel plate of the new liner.
