Messrs. J. C. Burns and A. M. Maefarlane were sworn in last night as members of'the Petone Borough Council lira new councillors were welcomed by the Mayor. Mr. A, Scholefield. A suggestion that the staff should paid on Tuesdays instead of on Thursdays was made by the Mayor, Mi'. A. Scholefield, at last night’s meeting of Gie Petone Borough Council. He contended that the effect of the change would be to distribute shopping more equally throughout the week. It was decided to discuss the question at the next meeting of the council.
