Petone Club’s Race From Waiouru The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew its weekly race on Saturday from Waiouru, an airline distance of I—>. miles. Ninety birds competed, representing 10 lofts. The birds were kindly liberated at 10 a.m. by the stationmaster, who advised that the weather was tine but oyercast, with a north-west wind, lhe birds put up a good performance, doing the distance in 2 hours 45 minutes. lhe following are the first eight placmgs. <». Prizes Presented There was a large attendance of fanciers, friends, and supporters at the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society s annual social and dance at the Realm Hall. Hataitai, recently. North, second year in succession: B. Clements. 40 points. South Cup, presented by Mr. H. Murphy for most points in all south races, third lyear in succession: C\ Webster and Son, 55 points. Three Kings Cup, presented by Mrs. B. elements for winner of race from Three Kings: Won outright by Murphy and Sherwood (twice in succession). Aoung Bird Cup, presented by Mr. George Wilson for most points all young bird races: R. Heyward, 52 points. Mrs. Perkins’s Rose Bowl, presented by Mrs. L. Perkins for most points No. 1 young bird races: F. trouper and Son. 28 points. Weatherburn Cup, presented by Mr. T. Weatherburn for most points No. 2 young bird races: R. Heyward, 29 points. Young Bird Interval Cup, presented by L. Perkins and F. Couper for winner of young bird interval race: L. Perkins. The McArdle Trophy, presented by Mr, J. McArdle for winner of one-bird flock championship race for young birds: F. Ferris. H. Clarke’s special of £l/1/- for nominated bird in Henderson race: B. Clements. G. Geary's special 10/6 for most points in young bird races: Tie between R. Heyward and Smith and Boxall, decided on most seconds, Smith and Boxall being the winners.
