Wellington Markets Active PRICES GENERALLY FIRM A good volume of business was recorded yesterday on the Welhn^ tol Exchange, prices being generally firm at late rates. New Zealand issues continued dull and easy, but dustrials were strong on a good demand. Union Banks had several sales at £J 10/-, and Commercial of Australia were firm at 18/4. Bank of New Zealand? had dealings at 39/5, buyers staying tn at 39/-. National of Australasia were wanted at £l4/5/-. . ■_ Breweries were very quiet, but Dominions were wanted at 30/6 and Staples at 35/-, holders of the latter asking 36/-. N.Z. Refrigerating. 10/- paid. ed to 8/11, sellers 9/3. Union stea ™ preference were firm, a parcel of 1300 shares being sold at 26/6. Buyers were in for Manawatu Knitting at 31/-. but there were no offers. Broken Hill Proprietary advanced to 78/-. sellers 78/9. and 56/6 was bid for the 15/- paid, new issue.
